worst fandom youve been in and why ?

if we being serious, I'll say dc, mostly batman media. People only rely on fanfiction and never the source material, they say the comics are too angsty but the newer continuity literally CONSISTS of fluff, there hasn't been extreme angst since the 90s. They also disregard canon.

People use other characters outside of batman media as an extension for their favs, they don't look into their characters or even read anything featuring them, they just want their favs to have a best friend.

Did I mention that batman fans are weird about people of color (specifically women of color)? a racist writer (grant morrison) had the opportunity to write a female character, and it completely damaged her image in the fandom and comics ever since. According to many people, the character is evil and they are subjected to the asian baby-mama stereotype.

Another thing about the racism, people always overlook and blatantly ignore the POC in the batfamily. Ironic thing is that they are the most interesting characters, if you dig deeper into their character, you'll see that they aren't a one-dimensional and boring character. But whatever, they just decide to be obtuse them and go praise their favourite white boys that havent had a good run since the 90s. 💀

Another thing is, they always take arbitrary character traits from WOMEN (such as helena bertinelli or selina kyle) and impose them onto male characters to make them seem more interesting. This annoys me so much. Why are you all outright misogynistic and allergic to female characters? We get it, your white boy is boring as fuck. Of course you have to take characteristics from female characters.

Next, people make micro-aggressions/racist stereotypes about POC in the batfamily, they toss it around like it's useful information, and they can't fathom that it's harmful to their character progression. Such as duke thomas (A black character) being a gang leader, or damian wayne (an arab-chinese character) being a violent and cultured murderer with an irredeemably doomed sense of morality. God forbid you can enjoy a person of color without someone having to antagonise them to make angsty scenarios.

People also FLAME love interests because their favourite relationship wasn't canon in the continuity, also because they hate that they were paired with random people. This type of behaviour mostly comes from gay fetishists, they bash straight ships aswell as fans of them.

This isn't related to the fandom, but the comics are very ableist toward those who are immobiled/disabled. Barbara gordon (Batgirl) was shot by the joker in her hip joint, leaving her unable to walk. Ever since she maintained the inability to walk, she became a technician, handled crime by interfering with security systems and installing data files. But DC can't seem to decipher that. Either they give her a "technological chip implanted in her waist" or they just forget about the event.

I cannot stand that shitty fanon webtoon (Wayne Family Adventures) because what do you mean the two visibly darkest characters needed etiquette lessons out of all of them? Why do they need to be tied to fucking chairs? WHAT WAS THE FUCKING REASONING FOR THIS?
