AITA for tricking an innocent woman into thinking I'm her husband, and then taking on her husband's life?

So, due to recent events, I've gone undercover, and started a new life. It was for the best in my current situation, so it had to be done. Though, we I got a new identity, I ended up replacing someone who already existed and had a life like mine, but more open I should say.

Long story short, I've taken his identity, and he seemed to just "disappear" out of nowhere, but I have taken place of him in his life. His wife, on the other hand, has seemed to notice some changes with her husband's personality and traits, me not knowing him well, or at all, I've been somewhat caught off guard by this. But even weirder, she's been more attached to me because of this, I am assuming her real husband probably never took care of her, or only cared for himself. I must say, I've grown quite attached to her as well, but I don't want to do much in case she notices.

Another who has noticed the changes was her son. He's grown a bit suspicious of me as well, the little shit, and I'm afraid of his shenanigans. He may uncover my true identity, so I wanted to try my best to silence him, or at least make him stop speculating on his "father's" new behavior.

I've been practicing my handwriting to match the original husband's, and may I say, I think I've done somewhat well, but it still hasn't satisfied that kid's hunger for probing of information. Even today, I spotted him following me when his home was in the other direction. I'd love to hear his excuse for this when I'm able to corner him. Then I may be able to threaten him into finally shutting up, and stopping this investigation.

I might have said too much, so I'll conclude now. Am I the asshole?
