Do you think there is another story similar to citt , obsessive rich manipulative bf but the bf have absolute pure love for the fl (each obsessive bf manhwa/manga that been recommended to me so far been the ml lowkey abusive to the fl that it turn me off)
What would inha's mbti would be?
I love how seol and jung started off as friends first even tho its pretty brief
What do you think Seol and Jung's MBTIs are? Can you share your thoughts on why you think those fit?
seol is INFJ and jung is INTJ! i think they both heavily rely on introverted intuition, which is the ability to be perceptive and see patterns in people and situations and this is how they analyze the world around them. they are especially sensitive to details that others don’t often notice and they can almost accurately predict the outcome of certain situations. there are often times when both of them just sense when something is off (like when seol senses a weird tension at the english academy or when jung starts to notice his dad’s behavior slightly changing way before he deduced it because someone was reporting on him to his dad) and then have a lightbulb moment of what exactly is amiss. they tend to find symbolism in what happens to them, like how jung is strongly against repeating cycles which we can see in how he analyzed inho’s life choices so far and gave him according advice. where i see them differ though is of course with seol being F and jung being T. seol uses extraverted feeling very blatantly as she is someone who values the good of the social group or the family over her own needs time and time again. she is always reading people (as jung does, but for different reasons! as we learned time and time again) to understand their mood and personality, to the point where she doesn’t even realize she’s doing it. but that’s how she always has interacted with others and she has a strong urge to take care of others’ needs even to the detriment of herself, which she thankfully improved on. for jung, i specific example where i identified that he uses extraverted thinking was when he was describing to seol how he calmed down and taught areum. the way he explained his method was so systematic and was similar to how coding/computer programs work. i often notice people with strong extraverted thinking are concerned mostly about what is most EFFICIENT. they can organize people and rule out strategies that aren’t as efficient, and they aim to get stellar results without doing any useless work. we can see this at play in the scene where he has a group project with jaewoo in season 1, where he suggests cutting down the number of articles they read and removing unnecessary information as they can get a good grade by focusing on the quality of the content. anyways, this was my reasoning from what i know about MBTI. i’m no expert but this is just my take from my previous analysis when i first read through the story years ago!
Do you personally have a dissatisfaction on something with citt?
Honestly im still confused if jung's dad has an ounce of care about him or not. According to the wiki, he doesnt want jung being octrasized like he did in the past hence why he listened so much to professor Baek but he shouldnt have 100% listened to him and he just made Jung even worst. He brought inho and inha so he cant get lonely but at the same time trying to 'fix' him? I honestly cant with this man because he has lots of contradictions
he’s a very confusing character, i like to
think he had good intentions and believed he was already healed so he must have been doing the right thing by using the baek siblings for jung’s benefit. but the dad still has a twisted personality and thus labeled his son as weird and used orphan kids to fix him while pretending to be a father figure to those kids. i doubt he ever learned from his mistakes but i’m glad neither jung nor the siblings give his BS any attention near the end of the story.
If jung has a sibling, do you see him having a younger or older sibling
i'd honestly prefer a younger sibling who is close in age! i feel like juyong serves as an older sibling figure and we got to see how petty and sulky jung can be as a younger sibling so i'd honestly like seeing him as an older sibling cause he's naturally caring, protective, and can see right through the dynamics in his family and his father's manipulations.
I have this theory about Jung's behavior, which resembles that of a parent stemming from his parent complex. This complex is rooted in his upbringing, particularly his father's parenting style.
In Season 1, Jung's behavior towards Seol and Inho near her house sparked this idea. His actions resembled those of a parent trying to subdue their anger and calmly handle a situation. This behavior is consistent with someone who has never been taught to process negative emotions like anger.I didn't think too much of this idea back then but my support for this idea only got stronger as the manhwa went one.
We see enough of Jung-seol conflicts to draw upon two conclusions. One being how jung turns to isolation, he could either expect Seol to figure out the reason why he got mad or he was never taught to process the emotion so did it mean his isolation tendencies could provide him some time so that he could no longer be affected by what pissed him off in the first place?
Through flashbacks in Season 3, we see Jung's childhood and his father's parenting style. It becomes clear that his father valued only positive emotions and discouraged Jung from expressing negative ones. This upbringing led Jung to develop a coping mechanism where he controls situations by controlling people when needed. However such negative emotions are cannot be avoided so this coping mechanism Jung had wouldn't help in every way possible so now his upbringing comes into the picture.
As a result of his father's parenting, Jung often reacts like a parent, subduing his emotions to avoid conflict and be the bigger person. This behavior is evident in his interactions with Seol, where he uses a parental tone and mannerisms to console her.
In an ideal parent-child relationship, parents help their children process negative emotions. However, Jung's father did not provide this kind of emotional support. Instead, Jung learned to suppress his emotions, leading to a sense of isolation.
I would say Jung's tendency to let go of negative emotion is a result of his father's ubringing and his isolation tendencies resemble his mother's who was very much aware of her husband's parenting but chose to ignore it by keeping her distance with jung due to her job and few other reasons I am not quite sure of.
Jung was taught to accept situations the way they are presented to him by maintaining poise. This reverts of idealistic parent-child relationships and how parents are supposed to be understanding of their own children by accepting their children and the most important part helping them grow as people which Jung's father believed he could achieve in his twisted ways.
All in all Jung's parent complex has significantly impacted his relationships. He struggles to form deep connections with others, often using his coping mechanism to control situations. However, through his relationship with Seol, Jung is able to change and become a source of comfort, despite never having been comforted himself.
This character development showcases the power of love and Jung's desire to improve himself for Seol. Despite his upbringing, Jung is able to break free from it enough to form a meaningful connection with someone so special to him like Seol. This growth is a testament to Jung's capacity for change and his willingness to work through his emotional struggles. This also explains why I don't strongly agree with the argument that Jung did not change significantly through the duration of the manhwa when he did indeed but it was conveyed by the author in subtle ways befitting Jung's personality.
This is a silly long theory if you liked it do let me know, I have an analysis on Jung's dad hidden in my drafts.
sorry for the late reply! yes, absolutely, i agree with this! one thing i noticed especially when jung gives seol advice is that his words seem like a parent or guardian's reassurance that the child is doing well. it's also evident when he encourages seol to show her feelings and rely on him. i especially agree with how you mentioned jung's dad parented him in a way that taught him to repress his emotions and take on more of a parent role in his interpersonal relationships, in which he is more understanding and has to "let everything slide." it's sort of why he encourages seol to do the opposite and freely show her emotions to him so she doesn't feel suffocated in the same way he does. i actually hadn't thought of it before but i completely agree that this signifies his change and growth throughout the story - he learned to break free from old patterns and have more authentic relationships instead of repressing all his feelings and processing his emotions in a healthy way.
i would love to hear the analysis on his dad and any more that you'd be willing to share with me ! 😊
I was bored and listening to a few songs. I couldn't help but think how Teeth by 5 Seconds of Summer is so seol coded, and she's crazy but she's mine by Alexey Vorobyov is so Jung coded. I'd say these are hot takes lmao
Omg what's your thoughts on this chapter? Also last chapter before hiatus next week what's your predictions? Also i personally don't want cheol to get mad at miae or ignoring her because jisu saved her from the lightbulb😔i know cheol is just a 14 year old loser boy BUT the lightbulb might hurt her face if jisu didn’t take action right away. The fast forward scenes of today's chapter what do u think the reason behind them?
i actually haven't read it in full but i've read snippets here and there and 😭 my prediction for the next chapter is we'll see a shift in cheol and miae's dynamic and it'll end right on that note (maybe they have an argument over all this tension and one of them blurts out something scandalous like a confession or admitting jealousy sksks idk). i don't think cheol will be mad at miae for that since she couldn't control that, as he's pretty reasonable despite his jealous moments lmao. but he could be frustrated/jealous that jisu stepped in before he could. i'm not sure about the fast forward scenes since i haven't fully read the chapter though 😭 but i'll see it once it's updated on english webtoon !
I'm doing good 👐
Hi Selene 👋. How you been?
I hate bringing this up again. Manhwatwt would be better without those homophobics in it. They are threatening to sue or press criminal charges then see why people are upset. All they had to do was add gl/bl accounts. No one forced them to do anything else. They could have said it was a list of their favorite manhwa authors but they went the cop out route. The kind of people I can't stand are those that harm others than see why people are vocal on calling them out. I can't stand the drama but I can't stand seeing people I respect threatened with charges against them.
the threatening with charges thing was crazy… i’ve been bombarded and ratioed on twitter before. i’ve had my private messages shared without my consent before. and i never thought to press charges cause this is the internet ? how insane are they. it’s almost like they understand how bad the things said are. as for adding the gl/bl accounts, i don’t know how this issue landed here. i also don’t think anyone should be compelled to read stories and genres that don’t fit their taste, not to mention things “they don’t agree with.” but the way those messages spoke about queer people and compared them to murderers? absolutely revolting. i can’t see anyone who supports that line of thinking in a good light ever again.
