hello! so, i know you said you don't ship creek + your rs bio, but, do you have any thoughts on them at all? you know, in relation to your other ships? i'm curious!
i dont mind talking about them in this kind of way, tbh!!! i think they have a really interesting dynamic, i just see it platonically/as angst that propels them into the relationships that i prefer them in. i like exploring their relationship, and why (in my opinion) it's doomed to fail. so thank u for asking :3 just wanted to clarify what i mean when i say i dont want to talk about creek. stuff like this is cool!
⚠️FAIR WARNING: ALL OF THIS IS JUST MY OPINION!!! im not here to shit on creek or people who like creek, these are just my personal hcs and my ideas :3 sit down for an analysis LOL
SO!!! i actually find creek's relationship dynamic very interesting. in the tweek x craig episode, or any creek centric canon after, i just... don't feel any romantic connection LOL they're kids who don't understand love yet (im a hypocrite cause style was born for each other) and in my opinion they were pretty much forced to be in a relationship to keep south park from cannibalizing itself. even in later episodes, their relationship feels forced to me. they fight constantly, break up every five seconds, which you could counter with "but blue, you ship KYMAN?" yeah, but kyle and cartman have the personalities for that kind of turbulent relationship. craig and tweek??? i just don't see it working out for them.
so they get into a relationship because they think it's what they're supposed to do. it makes their parents happy, it makes their peers happy, it makes ALL OF SOUTH PARK HAPPY!!! but they don't actually feel love for each other like that. i think they become very close as friends, a different kind of bond. i do think clyde is craig's best friend, but i think it is different with tweek. you spend so much time with someone trying to make things click, you know...
craig takes on a sort of care taker role. i think he learns to understand tweek, and he'd feel guilty leaving him alone. i think he'd also want to avoid the town going into another meltdown, so staying together is just.... comfortable. they have a routine down, he's used to it. it isn't comfortable in the sense that he enjoys it, but he's comfortable because it's what he knows. i don't think craig likes change, and i think any strong or intense feelings scares him too. but tweek is a kindred spirit in this regard, kinda. but he's used to things being too much, which in some weird way he finds being overwhelmed to be his form of comfort. stagnation is when things are uncomfortable for tweek.
so... being with craig is boring. tweek doesn't want to go to the planetarium for the twentieth date in a row, he doesn't want to watch all of craig's space horrors or watch him play video games. craig is a creature of habit, and while tweek is in a way as well, he needs change. tweek's mind is always going, the gears are always turning. craig is content to sit still, to take things slow, to just sort of exist in each other's space. but tweek can't sit still, not like craig can.
so i think they'd eventually break up... and to be honest, i think it would in a sense be due to emotional cheating. craig and tweek both want different people, and i think it would take them some time to come to terms with the fact that they're unhappy like this. it would be a mutual breakup... they'd still be friends after, even if a little awkward in the beginning.
for craig, he'd end up with kenny. kenny is patient, good with kids and accustomed to repetition and new interests. he doesn't mind, he's content to just listen. craig would be self conscious at first... embarrassed if he catches himself going on an info dump. remembering all the times tweek was bored or would interrupt to tell him yeah, i know dude, you told me already. but kenny reassures him.. sweet kyenny...
and for tweek... kyle. kyle is so different from tweek, but they're similar in one way: neither of them can sit still. tweek with adhd, and kyle with ocd. kyle can sit down and focus on something, he has routines, but theres something new to explore each time. some kind of goal to accomplish. to get better at. where craig likes doing things out of comfort, kyle's routines are in place because any sudden change will throw him off. upset him, anger him, frustrate him. stan doesn't mind, he goes with the flow of kyle. and sometimes he'll pick for him when kyle can't decide. he knows what he likes, what he gets sick of doing. he's been doing it forever.
poor tweek tho... knowing how to navigate around all the ways kyle ticks isn't easy in the beginning. he likes kyle because he's a challenge, even if it can be stressful. he doesn't always know what he's going to get, and yet there's still a sense of comfort every day. a sense of familiarity... just enough that tweek feels at ease. a challenge, with stability.
and i think from there, craig and tweek would just be close friends. kenny and kyle challenge both of them in the ways they need. i just think creek works better as friends than as partners. it's just my view of them... i don't feel any romantic connection from them in canon. i'm not saying my ideas are canon, of course not. but its just my thoughts on them :3 i hope that answered your question and im sorry for rambling 🙏
