WOAH! I think… you may have dug a hole for yourself bc If youre a long time oomf of mine youll probably know which obsessed coupling ill talk about but this is a very passionate /r ship of mine… !!!! ONE OF A VERY FEW…. ban..yuki… ok. If this was written in 2022-2023 it would probably be a lotttt longer and more passionate but ill try my best to deep dive into this passion interest of mine. I will write this assuming the reader doesnt know idolish7.

Idk how farr back i should start this… . firstly i think yuki before the current re:vale is one of the best characters written in media TO ME very me core and is a character i deeply relate to very great chara ! anyway whether you know ainana or not ill make this brief.. But to understand banyuki you must know the yuki of the past. Very flawed character. irresponsible, rude, stubborn, selfish, careless, blunt, self-centered… he lives according to his own beliefs and patterns so if this peace of his is disturbed he gets kinda like overstimulated like you do not want to get in between his ways. Dont tell him what to do, dont give him advice all of that ‘leave me alone’ type of guy. A jerk.. A pain in the ass!!! Not many great things describe him but one thing about him is that he is EXTREMELY passionate about his craft, his music. He doesnt care about anything or anyone else or himself actually. He’d starve himself, stay up all day all night, drop people, kill himself multiple times to reach satisfactory results. Hed do anything to get what he ultimately wants. Hes a bit too… passionate, he has trouble letting go of his music, sometimes even past the point where his work is seemingly finished but just cant let go. Easiest way to say is that he as extreme attachment issues .. there really isnt anyone who would keep up with him. Despite his nasty attitude, he attracts a lot of people with his good looks which he really does not like. Its superficial. He doesnt need love - only wants people to love the songs he kills himself for. He has a deep level of uncertainty from others which stems from his lack of love in his life, and this is where banri comes in relieving solitude. I think i could deffo ramble a lot about yuki himself but its getting a bit long… thats for sure a different deep dive into the chara himself and i havent reached like 50% of this one so i kept it real simple and vague.

Banri himself back before re:vale isnt that different to the banri you know now. Mature, calm, level-headed, cool,.. Ikemen… . You might not see it as often now but hes very honest but considerably (not like yuki) he can snap at someone when he wants, when hes mad hes mad. He holds back a lot when you dont realise. You could say maybe the complete opposite of who yuki was. But the pair like two adjacent puzzle pieces, was the perfect pair for each other. Banri loves music as much as yuki does. Performing was always something banri loved to do, to see the audience, their smiles and the heat of the stage was something he always liked. No particular reason for it, it was just pure love. And this act of love was something he wanted to experience with yuki to death. I think you can really tell how comfortable yuki was around banri, comfortable enough to initiate the beginning of re:vale. He would be the only person around who understood yuki, they shared the same interests, music, singers, their dreams. And for yuki, the dude who only showed interest in music, really strongly conveys his trust and love for banri. “Like a thirsty desert traveler gulping for water, yuki drank up everything i said and did” LIKE……………………. IDK! Banri for sure misunderstood yuki in the beginning but the more they met, despite everything, he could tell yukis desperation and devotion for music was no more than just pure and earnest feelings. And towards those feelings, as much of a pain of a character yuki is, banri will always stand by his side and protect his pure and sensitive heart. Even if he’ll get stabbed one day.

SORRY THIS IS REALLY LONG but ill get into the ship itself now… this is gonna mixed with my personal feelings about them as well.

To describe banyuki in three words: divorced, toxic, codependency.
To me banyuki is such a beautiful pair with a beginning and an end. Theyre the epiphany of summer, a shy, bright and joyful meeting, the start of something so pure and honest. But also deals with the grief and melancholy of a snowy winter day. When i see summer, banyuki, winter, banyuki. I think theyre kinda diabolic for doing that to me.

The pair meet in highschool, yuki nonchalant as ever with a very questioning banri. Its not surprising the only thing that would turns yukis head around is music and thats the effect of banris music. “Do you have more music” “yeah theyre at home” “ok lets go” … “i didnt get the address of your house are we walking the right way” …….. One thing in his mind only is music. On the very same day of their first ever meeting. “I want to start a band with you” ??? on a humid summer day yuki announces. Its more like he forced it on banri he decided on his own. Banri looks up at yuki, as well as the cloudy sky behind him. “It wasnt a blue sky, rather, it was a white sky more dazzling than the sun”…… ARE YOU SRS……….. (This is a quote i will always remember). One thing about re:vale theyre all about skies, concept art always needs a sky. anw, But as considerate as banri was .. he thinks hmmm .. “okay why not”. Banri was the first person yuki ever wanted to do this with, he doesnt want to mess this up. Everyone tends to leave him. He’ll make sure he wont make banri mad or anything. But its fine. When hes mad, hes mad but he’ll never leave yuki and thats a promise hes willing to make. And thats the beginning of Re:vale.. Quite beautiful.. So youthful. Banri starts living alone due to some family situations and yuki tends to hang around there while theyre still in highschool. Banri sees all sides to yuki. His ramblings and grumblings. The pair do fight a lot “ban is so cold to me despite always giving the audience fanservice” yuki hates fanservice and is really against showing kindness to their audience. Why give them further misunderstandings, we’re passionate about music, we’re not selling ourselves why cant people just judge us by our music. Im not an idol i dont need people knowing personal information about us. Mmmm…. Yukis just real passionate about music he dreads about it all day or night till it sucks the living out of him. He ignores his own mental and physical state till he passes out just being possessed over the thought of creation. Despite that, despite having school to attend banri is very attentive to yuki and he’d do anyhting to put him at ease. Banri worries A LOT about yukis wellbeing, he wants him to be able to sing with ease without a worry in the world. Worried he might kill himself at some point its that bad.
One day they get a request to perform as idols, before this point theyve only been doing band work. My favourite part of this is banris realisation as they danced on stage for the first time. Yukis expression…. He looks.. Hes singing… At ease. This part always makes me cryyyy like :(((((((((((((((((( their expressions are so extremely softened and its just the first time you really see yuki enjoy being on stage and you just see banris resolve like this is it. This is the absolute best way to make yuki happy.. To have fun. He just always wishes for yukis happiness and success it makes me SOB.

Sorry…. If youve read to this extent im seriously rambling i cant call this a deep dive theres too much im trying so hard to simplify this the best i can .

Yuki is a very lonely character. He has no other friends apart from banri. When he heard banri had to move to the big city after graduation he was a bit yknow. Sulking. He looked gloomy. I wont be able to see you as easily as i could now. Just one year… another year then he can move to the big city too. Banri wanted to move to the city so they could get a better start on their idol journey. Im the only one that could do this, so that yuki could be with the music he says. It is something he definitely swears on. Banris always figured that yuki could sing alone while he would be in the back doing all the management for him. He knows him well enough, he knows how to make him happy. He wanted yuki to be free with his music as soon as possible.
Theres a scene that i really love… theyre at a temple yknow and yuki asks what a buddhist prayer is. Its restricting yourself to make a wish come true. Such as abstaining from drinking alcohol or wearing the same stuff all the time or…. GROWING YOUR HAIR OUT…………. OHMYFAH….. . he prays for re:vale, he and yuki to make and sing good songs always. I think this such a beautiful scene and just knowing they both currently have really long hair makes me sob at the thought of them growing their hair out together while they were apart.

Hand over the mouth moment wait.. What i absolutely love love love about banyuki is their codependency. The both of them ever so passionately aim for their dreams and banri was always good at organising and managing things. But maybe there was one thing he overlooked. Banri adores yuki, the pain in the ass yuki with such purity and love for music he kills himself for it. But… before he realised it, “the yuki who lived under banris protection wasnt one who couldnt live without music, yuki had become one who could not live without banri. WOAHHH…………………………… banri coming into yukis life taught him how to experience love… and this love is something yuki wants to hold onto so badly, that he cant live without him. So what happens when… banri isnt there?

I'll skim past this but banri get injured on stage yepyepyep. Stage light hits the head in the way of protecting yuki. You have never seen yuki so emotionally draught. Wayyy before this, some creep guy name kujou wanted to scout yuki but yuki didnt like the limitations of his contract and hes just a creep who cant get over this one dude so he declines his offer.
In that hospital bed banri wakes up after a week. Yuki looks terrible he hasnt slept, ate, anything. But kujou is there… and suddenly yuki has such trusting eyes.. Why? He said horrible shit about kujou why is this happening now.. Kujou told yuki, if you work for me ill pay for banris surgery and remove the scar on his forehead, ill fix him for you. And yukis like ill do whatever just quickly heal him. This is the One thing banri did not want AT ALL… all banri wishes for is for yuki to be able to sing with no restrictions, freely singing what he wants to sing, and working with kujou disrespects all of that. Banris mad like hes pissed…. That man is lying to you! No hes not he wants to fix you, he wants to hear your music, everyone loves your music! …….Bullshit!!!! …….With the most painful face, ever so gently yukis hands reach towards banris face but stops before he reaches the bandages on his head “i cant let it leave a scar on your face….” Never have you ever seen yuki so desperate for something.
This hospital scene really hurts because you see a completely different side of yuki so tattered, so desperate and so painfully dependent on banri that hed risk himself for banris happiness. He feels extremely responsible for banris injury. And furthermore, banri feels extreme guilt and pressure. But.. yuki you cant sing when someone tells you to….. “I can do it for you” KMSS…………….. At that moment banri felt pain in his heart , so much more painful than the injury he had succumbed to. This was the last thing he wanted. Everything he had done up to this moment was for yuki to sing with no limitations, he wanted to protect his soul but why.. It was snatched just like that.

Banri thought no one understood yuki like he did, and it was fine if it was like that forever. Its fine if no one understood him if he was there, its alright. All yuki needed was banri and that was something banri never wavered from. He knew yuki head to toe, he figured he was the only one that could bring the best potential out of yuki to the world. He enjoyed spoiling yuki, he never hated it, in fact he was happy being relied on by a completely dependent yuki. He never told yuki to change his ways, he has always been lenient and allowed yuki to act the way he did.
He noticed, at some point banri had become a huge role in yukis life. Every decision, he looked for banri. He lived and sang with dependence on banri. But he loved that yuki. He loved the yuki who loved music and the yuki who loved him.

Like how yuki needed to isolate himself from his music, banri decided then, he needed to disappear. If he disappeared then yuki would be free. Surely. All he wished for was yukis freedom and he felt like he was holding him back. He believed in yuki and wished for his happiness even if he was gone, this wish would never change. Little did he know, yuki was extremely depressed and like suicidal without banri… (i feel like i really skimmed through this bit but just know it was very very sad and hard decision for banri to make)
Banri disappears sobbing like crazy on a choice he decided for himself, something he risked on, walking down the street on a snowy winter's day….

Because i cant do this part justice, Let me insert banris final dialogue because i think its the most beautiful and painful love letter from him and i sob so violently every time i read it.

[ The beloved future he'd envisioned had become a pipe dream. He made a speech within his heart. You know, I wanted to be with you, Yuki. I wanted to listen to your music right beside you.
And yet, now I'm moving forward down a path I chose myself.

Again, the feelings he'd dropped somewhere ached a little. He was sure that he'd remember them many times... The dawns when they'd talked until morning. The satisfied smile he'd seen under the dazzling, dark gray sky. The traces of when they'd leaned against each other's shoulders and slept on the last train of the night.The dancing they'd done together under the blue sky. The days they'd dreamed of together.

Yuki was a stubborn, eccentric, lonely person. He had many likes and dislikes, was terrible at waking up, and was a womanizer. Banri would clearly remember, over and over, vividly, his friend who had loved music more than anyone else, and who had wanted Banri more than anyone else.

He wondered what he should do from now on. Banri smiled tearfully, alone. First, he'd sing a sad song with all his strength. Then, he'd sing a Re:vale song. And then, when the sadness healed, he'd make the preparations for his happiness. Someday, yuki would be successful. When the time came for yuki to find him, if banri was unhappy, surely he’d worry yuki, kind as he was. He would make preparations so that they could laugh together the moment they met again. If he wanted it to go well, he would make sure it went well.

It wasn't dedication, or self-sacrifice, or deception. It wasn't that he was putting on a bold front, either.

It was like when he'd watched the smiles spread naturally throughout the audience from a dazzling stage.

It was just love. ]

TBH IDK WHO WOULD READ THIS WHOLE THING… BUT. i really dont wanna drag it further as this is extremely long and its 2am but this was the best of banyuki and whatever happens after this is more of yukis experiencing loneliness without banri and meeting momo who does end up being more vocal with his love for yuki, banri and re:vale in general. Ultimately growing yuki as a person. Leading up to the re:vale you know now.

There is definitely soooo much more i can add but i think i can end it here for now… thank you anon for enabling this.. Ive missed banyuki a lot and for sure there arent a lot of people that love them as much as yukimomo (10 times more popular) so im glad theres someone who wants to read my obsessive coupling which is for sure banyuki if not banyuki i probably wouldve talked about ohseio but if its deep diving banyuki would be a much more fun read. Maybe i cried multiple times writing this also sorry my writing is so ass. GN!

Hi! Maimai… i think as someone who likes playing rhythm games…….. and vocaloid maimai was a very appealing game to me and i enjoy the mechanics of it better compared to chunithm or wacca etc. also customising your profile is fun… also fun events… but i only like played once in a while before i started casually playing more early 2023. Tbh didnt really think I’d get kinda okay at the game so i think its fun if you dont get so serious into it ! As for songs i like its kinda hard to pick out bc i tend to choose songs i want to achieve better scores in or just songs i wanna listen to.. 😂 but theres deffo songs i find fun ill have to link them later bc i cant list them here from the top of my head 👍 also its a fun way to release stress and anger !!!
