Hi! As a writer, I'm just curious-- is there a reason you're taking so few writers? We often feel left out in the zine space due to such limited spots and I'd love to see more projects take more of us. Many zines take even upwards of 8-10, but with such a large fandom like HSR, I feel like offering more opportunities to writers would be wonderful.

Hello! Due to the nature of zines we can unfortunately only accept a few writers. We have set our word limit at 3k, meaning each piece can take up to 8-10 pages. With four writers, we are looking at around 32-40 pages of written work in around a 100-page zine book. In contrast, each piece of artwork only takes up around one page of space. We aim to ensure a well-balanced blend of both art and writing within the zine book.

In addition, it's important to note the page-intensive nature of written works impacts our affordability. More writers means a bigger book which directly translates into the cost. In accordance with our interest check and ensure accessibility, we aim to keep our book as affordable as possible.

Through careful deliberation, the mod team decided that four writers is the sweet spot for this project and its goals. With the growth of the HSR fandom and many more zines appearing we're sure that everyone can find a project suitable for them. We thank you for your interest and hope this answers your question.
