hey boo!~ ty for believing in me enough to trust me to answer this question haha. since i write fic, i can only answer this question from my experience as a content creator, which i do think is a bit easier to make mutuals/friends. but! there are some thing you can do regardless!

for me, when i joined twitter, i just started out by following people that had written fics i liked, because i knew that i wanted to post fic eventually and it would be nice to have friends who had the same hobby as me. but you can still do that! if you have artists or writers that you like their work, follow them, comment on their work - things like that.

but it's also important to have your own online identity! even if you're not making art/fics, make tweets! it doesn't have to be anything specific, but show some of your personality/interests and people will naturally begin to interact with you as well.

it's hard to make friends through a screen, but it can definitely be done! at the end of the day, it might be cliche, but the best way to do that really is to be yourself. and dont be discouraged if it takes a while to find your people - it'll end up being worth the wait!
