i think his dad might be too famous for him to fall into obscurity, so i could see him being jeff buckley'd years down the line via the classic rock or alt sides of popular socmed platforms. if peter died, i imagine juni would go even deeper into reclusion and you'd never hear from her directly ever again. it'd more likely be peter's half-sister alice that keeps his memory alive for him, as she'd still be a public figure.

in terms of regret: nope. they do acknowledge that they weren't the warmest parents to her, but they don't imagine raising her any other way. their relationship is estranged for some time -- peter doesn't meet his grandparents formally until he's like 5 because juni doesn't reconnect with oz and charlotte until after charlie dies.

as a teenager in the 80s, he was artsy, angsty, and desperately tried to get away from looking more and more like his father every day. he dyed his hair black, listened to a lot of moody post-punk (very smiths-coded, this kid was), and refused to even touch the guitar. he much rather preferred poetry and movies. i also like to imagine that he, like his mother in her youth, split his time between new york, london, and birmingham.

i think she’d go to upstate NY after charlie dies to escape the inevitable media circus that would follow her if she were in any major cities. she and rocky would have alice upstate when peter is like kindergarten-age… i feel like juni would want to keep them in a quiet woodsy neighborhood for a while but when they become older they’ll inevitably want to move back down to NYC.

oh you just KNOW magazines would be desperate to interview him for a “20 years later” retrospective on charlie on the anniversary of his death and peter will be torn between telling them to fuck off and giving in just this once to say his peace and be done with it

i think you’re on the money about that 👀 i honestly don’t see oz meeting peter til peter’s, like, 7 — a few years after charlie’s died and juni’s gone into reclusion to focus on raising her family, which means reconnecting with her own. i think her relationship with her mother is always going to be on the rocks, but her relationship with her father has more potential to be amicable upon reconnection. i don’t think oz would be a present grandfather in any way outside of the occasional holiday visit or gift though.

she might know them but she wouldn’t confront them. sometimes theyd try to confront her with an attitude but juni is surprisingly quite standoffish and smug when it happens. she can’t help but feel a bit of schadenfreude for the groupies charlie would sleep with that are convinced that he’d leave juni for them — even if juni isn’t thrilled with charlie’s philandering, at least he always comes home to her.
