Hey Kitty-Tama! Question! Like, does your mom not mind you being into eroge with darker themes(via guro or force, etc...), cause like I had to opt out of a fan translation team cause parents and a friend told me it's wrong, even though I tell em' I can distinguish fiction from reality, etc... Is the trick to keep ya interests to yourself and private among yourself and interested groups, or does the family have to learn to accept who you are? Opinion can be your own, too!
My mom is very supportive of the work I do and my interests. She of course is like "the porn stuff ain't for me, but you have to do what makes you happy" and she's always so happy for me to work on the stuff I do (yes, even Maggot Baits, lol). Assuming you're over 18, I don't see why you should let your parents/friend group stop you from working on darker content. They don't have to like it, that's fine, but I don't think letting folks control what you do that makes you happy is all that great either... You gotta do what you gotta do! I'm of the opinion that while friends/family SHOULD accept who you are, they may not always accept certain aspects of you/your interests. Eroge are a central part of me, so I'm loud and proud of my love of them; as a result, my parents learned to accept that love VERY quick LOL But they weren't that repulsed when I told them I'm working on such things when I told them. Obviously I don't know your friends/parents, and I think in some situations it may be best to just keep some things to yourself. But assuming you're an adult working on adult content and it makes you happy, it's good to remember that not everyone will accept it; what matters is that you accept yourself first and foremost.
