No trust as someone who's been in the fandom since Genshin launched, Haikaveh is honestly the worst and the start of the era of the downfall of Genshin yaoi. No matter how annoying people could be before, it doesn't even hold a candle to now when they have this credibility that they're speaking on queer representation and when most people agree.

Haikaveh came right after the big Beigguang thread about coding, patient zero, and Haikaveh's rise was marked with threads full of the same. Mainly focusing on Kaveh himself. A lot of the wriolettes you know now for being annoying were also Haikaveh stans and you can see them using the exact same playbook Haikaveh did. Haikaveh stans managed to get rid of rivals pretty easily, especially with the parasocial nature of the VAs joining in. They got people to agree that rival yaoi was racist and fetishizing, and they got people to agree that shipping them with women was problematic because Alhaitham is a classist asshole (but Kaveh will fix him). It doesn't help that ovreadp, the biggest instigator of "Kaveh is queer coded man who is canonically fem" also rebranded as a wriolette acc, neuvillotters, doing the exact same thing with Wrio. Look at threads about how coded Wrio is and it's almost like the same exact thing Kaveh stans wrote. And now after haikaveh everyone expects their Genshin and also HSR yaoi to be canon coded and implied, you can't cook for fun, it's all about picking the next ship you can say is so canon and so X coded. There's no deviating from the canon assigned ships, a character has their implied partner and that's it.

The way hoyo stans can't let rival ships just exist is so weird to me. Especially for smaller ships that literally don't bother anyone. Haikaveh stans spent months going after Haino even though the ship was way smaller and people were just trying to vibe. Now Renheng shippers get salty about jingren shippers doing their thing, because they're afraid that people shipping rarepairs is stealing their canon. Even though none of these shippers are arguing their ships are canon, they just want to have fun. The most annoying thing about no ships being canon here is that fans of bigger ships literally will gaslight everyone into treating their ships as canon so its justified to bully smaller ships, and you're literally not even allowed to call them out.
