i watched a little bit of kamen rider ex aid (not all) because of your kuroto posting and i want to know your opinions on the various kuroto yaoi (or yuri if you prefer) i know about kurogai(?) and kuroemu from things you’ve said but no idea how you feel about these things (or other kuro- things?)
First of all I would always support Kuroto if he were to be in yuris with someone but tragically imo he's too much of a cisgender man to have anything like that going on. Sorry.
Also probably don't read any of this if you mind spoilers (I discuss stuff that's revealed in #22 + Mighty Novel X at length) aha
Kurogai is like. I have no emotional investment into it because it's a crossover ship with approximately 40 min of (not good) content (and a lot of that 40 min is Gai watching Kuroto argue with his dad and thinking "thank god I'm not like you people") but if you ever end up watching all of Ex-Aid and 01 check out Kamen Rider Genms: The Presidents to see what I mean whenever I talk about it. Something about all that was definitely gay sex.
Kuroemu. [DEEP SIGH]
I love their dynamic. I love it when men are unhealthily obsessed with other men so bad. For better or worse though it is also exceedingly clear that Takahashi didn't mean to imply all that when he wrote them at all?
Baby Emu made baby Kuroto realize other people exist and can be better at things than him and Kuroto's way of coping with it was 1) holding up Emu as some sort of pure flawless ideal in his head and 2) getting obsessed with ruining and corrupting said ideal, which he then proceeded to set up for the following 16 years (standout events include drugging and kidnapping the guy to do surgery on him. Also "I waited for years and years... until, six years ago, I was finally able to confirm that the virus had grown inside you." I think this has. Implications? This comes off almost like Kuroto had been stalking him all that time until that tournament?). This is a deranged thing to write. And yet it's given around the same amount of weight you'd give any "villain was responsible for bad thing in hero's past all along" reveal when it feels like it should be... at the very least... a way more important part of Kuroto's character than that?
However: I have reasons to believe Takahashi figured it out sometime before he wrote the novel because otherwise we wouldn't have Nico calling Kuroto a pervert for all that (and in general their relationship is given a LOT more thought than it is in the TV series; basically the only time it's acknowledged that Kuroto feels any particular sort of way about Emu post-revival is that bit at the start of #34 where he goes all "Emu how does the crystal of your heart see Dr Kagami (:"). Takahashi's further course of action, however, is actually amazing: the novel basically concludes with Emu (correctly!) figuring out that in the end Kuroto is a guy who just wants to make games and have people play them and deciding that if what makes Kuroto happy is people playing his games, he'll play them for as long as it takes until Kuroto is satisfied. It ends with Emu promising to dedicate his life to playing along with the guy who traumatized him in 50 billion possible ways so he can finally be truly happy. Jesus fucking Christ. I love it. (I repeat: he's not wrong about this being what will make Kuroto happy! This is exactly why I say that Kuroto doesn't actually hate Emu, at least not by the end of all this! They're a genius game developer versus a genius gamer locked forever in an endless game (heh), this is the kind of thing Kuroto loves!)
Also Iwanaga said (heavily paraphrased) "Kuroto saw his mother in Emu at the end of Genm vs Lazer because Emu still cared and worried about him no matter what. Those are extremely human feelings and yeah you can't really define "human" but I do believe even Kuroto has feelings understandable to other people and those feelings are what draws him to Emu" tl;dr Kuroto kinda wants Emu to be his mommy and Freud's rotating in his grave at speeds previously thought impossible (it sounds absurd and that's because it is but hey given that Kuroto's mother was the only source of genuine love and kindness in his life it's not unreasonable that he'd come to see her as the embodiment of everything good in the world and then project her onto who he convinced himself is his special pure innocent virgin crystal)
My stance on Kuroemu is that first of all if you draw them cute fluffy normal married you need to be captured and studied thoroughly in some kind of facility. Second uhhh "shipping" means something different for everyone but the base definition of "wanting two characters to be in a romantic relationship" doesn't really apply for me here in fact I think they should invent a restraining order that you get for two other people because there's no way either of them will let go of each other on their own. However I don't ever stop thinking about whatever the fuck they have going on because as previously mentioned I think unhealthy obsession rules. So basically I wouldn't really say I ship them in the end but they ARE easily my favorite character relationship in like anything ever
Uhhhh Kurokiri is good and my actual favorite Kuroto ship in the traditional (??) sense. I've rewatched Genm vs Lazer 14 times (rough estimate, I stopped counting after 10). I know the hatesex is crazy. God has cursed me with the inability to put my serious thoughts on them into words properly but [thumbs up] it's good
I don't ship Parakuro but the fact that there are literally like 3 people who do in the entire world is fascinating. Yuya Takahashi is the first ever KR writer to write two guys who hate each other with ZERO homoerotic subtext. Nothing happened there. Fantastic. I giggle about their dynamic sometimes
Every other Kuroto ship occupies zero space in my brain. None at all. As previously mentioned Kurotai is a hoax by Big Yaoi to sell more mpreg fanfic + he doesn't interact with anyone else who isn't related to him enough for the relationship to be really worth feeling much of anything about
That's it pretty much uhhhhhh hope you enjoyed

In the portrayal of vampirism in literature, sexual pleasure is often associated with sucking blood from another person, a representation of the “love bite.” a paraphilia whereby the drinking of blood elicits sexual arousal or pleasure. Also called Renfield's syndrome. (Answer this on your priv)
What if his name was FREAKuroto instead of just Kuroto
Oh this still exists? Hi kiara forgot the password to my retrospring
