Hello this is period anon, I, a menace, have returned with follow up questions. How long are they pregnant for? I’m assuming they’re human length, but then that makes me wonder, can they shift while pregnant??? I feel like that'd mess some things up internally. Are the babies born in whatever form their mother is at birth? And would most city lupa prefer a home birth over a hospital birth since hospitals are overwhelming scent-wise?? Please enjoy my restless brain as a exercise in worldbuilding or patience
pregnancy is the length of a human's, and usually lupas will make a choice on which form to carry/birth in when they attempt to conceive (the risk of miscarriage/premature labour is connected to shifting forms which is why they make a choice beforehand). pups are born pending on the form their mother conceives/carries, which also will result in how big they can grow during pregnancy (a lupa in their natural form will birth pups small because of that form's physical differences, whereas a lupa birthing in their survival form may give birth to chunky pups lol). for city lupas, depending on how they've been raised, they may prefer giving birth amongst their birth pack-born, or they may be totally accustomed to mundanes stink/willing to put up with it in order for them to give birth in a hospital. again, i can't recall what fic i mentioned pregnancy in but hopefully these extra detail will help hahaha
