Saw you been reading NYT Modern Love column. Mind to share us your favorite article from that?
Every submissions are lovely but some articles I could not stop thinking are: An Anxious Person Tries to Be Chill by Coco Mellors (“His capacity for delight, his seemingly boundless sense of wonder, was one of the first things I loved about him.”), Nursing a Wound in an Appropriate Setting by Thomas Hooven (“Less like a crystal vase, more like a basketball, our relationship is made for bouncing — for the good and sometimes rough play that modern professional lives generate.”); and Learning to Measure Time in Love and Loss by Chris Huntington (“I’d pick fights over nothing. I was mad to be in prison and I wanted everyone else to be mad, too. But then I realized: Man, this is my life. Do I want to be that guy? Always mad?”)

My Swan, what do you think, is love about finding someone to complete you, or about becoming whole on your own?
I think love is something that nourishes us, but who says it has to come from someone else? Love can come from within; we can love ourselves for who we are, flaws and all. If we spend our lives waiting for someone to complete us, that could turn into a very exhausting wait, no?
And I believe we'll attract a deeper love if we are whole on our own. Relying on someone else to fulfill us is a risky bet, but we can always change the way we think and act: that means completing ourselves, without waiting for someone else to do it for us.

I’m curious—before you got into the China Entertainment Industry, what did you think about it, and what made you decide to join the community?
I knew about it since I watched the survival show Idol Producer and I just thought wow things really worked differently there.... although I have an earlier memory of getting into c-ent through Taiwan/TVB dramas but that was all? But getting deep into digging the c-ent lore as an adult is a whole other experience because I am into fashion and it is the fashion in c-ent that wow me the most. I don't watch much dramas these days but I like paying attention to the fashion of c-ent

Is it too late for me to like you? You seem to have many admirers already.
Technically no because I am still single and available, but I'd appreciate it more if they'd just talk to me directly so I can see if we are compatible in terms of communication and many other things than under the guise of anonymous. I'm very thankful that you like me, or maybe is almost liking me? I don't know if I'm making any sense, but again; I'd rather know who I'm talking to so I can look at them in the eyes, does that makes sense?

There are a few things in life so beautiful they hurt: swimming in the ocean while it rains, reading alone in empty libraries, the sea of stars that appear when you're miles away from the neon lights of the city, bars after 2am, walking in the wilderness, all the phases of the moon, the things we do not know about the universe, and you.
And there is comfort in the warm sound of the rain and the sparkle of the stars and neon lights, and more, but me? That one caught me off guard though I am thankful for writing me such lovely words; but I hope all the beautiful things in life won’t cause you hurt and instead bring you a smile and comfort, whoever you are.
