John is a neglectful father and yeah you can make the argument of because of his job he couldn't usually be there but He was NEVER there full stop man that's it. And he would shame Sam because he wanted to be a normal kid do normal kid things and live a normal life when John was out there teaching him and Dean crossbow hunting and shit which is so dumb because SAM WAS JUST SOMR KID HE DKESNT WANT TO KILL DEMONS. And also the screaming match they had in which John told Sam to leave and never come back! And also how he had 0 care towards what the boys wore and where they slept! And how he wouldn't even feed them and Dean would have to make all the dinners himself! This all goes to show how horrible he was as a dad and a person so yeah.
