Hiii lovely embyr π«ππ do u have any tips for writing a characters inner feelings well? I feel like my writing is very dialogue-heavy and idk how to develop a characters emotions and motivations well π would appreciate any advice since your writing feels so immersive and detailed!! πΈ
hello sweet anonie <3 ahh i feel like knowing and acknowledging the weaker points in your writing is always the first step, so you've already got that down! if you naturally write more dialogue-heavy scenes, i think it's fine during your first draft to naturally have that heavy dialogue! but then when you go back and edit, with a more conscious mind you can break up the dialogue with the characters' inner thoughts and feelings. i think giving the character a clear goal and clear motivations (/why/ do they feel that way, /why/ do they want that, what from their past leads them to think/behave like this?) from the beginning and reinforcing those emotions/motivations through your writing leads to good character development and strong character personalities. i hope this could help a little anonie, best of luck with your writing! ^-^
