hi anon! i actually don't like "mainstream" ships because of people like you <3 who think it's okay to belittle others for what they like or not, i never shit on a ship nor think a ship is more valid than another bcs while i might not ship something, i will defend your right to ship it since u get to do with ur life as u wish to do (and since i also want to do with my life whatever i want to do)
plus it's alright to not dig a ship, it's alright to be neutral abt ships, it's alright to even dislike something as long as you're not an ass abt it, everyone has preferences and mine are unfortunately tainted by ppl who act like their ships is more important just bcs it's more popular (aka. the mainstream ships, and if you're offended by me and others calling them mainstream, it might be bcs you enjoy exactly those, and companies do focus more on whats more popular and that's a known fact if you look around, there's even studies abt it)
so me not engaging with mainstream ships doesn't mean i think i'm better or worse than you, just means my prefences are different, and that's okay too once you learn diversity is a thing and that you can be respectful towards ppl that like different things than you do <3
