I often feel certain shippers here really be shipping their OCs because how adamant they are against the canon story and keep rewriting it with their HCs. I actually have 0 problems with fics or fanarts because if that feed your ship then go on but usually what follows is bunch of people trying so hard to convince others that this ship is better and canon! because these reasons (all of which are HCs or comes from fics and fanarts) and this ship (happens to be hateful mf ship) isn't and something about the canon doesn't matter including ignoring Furina's own words in her VL which I always found as ironic. They always use her VL about Neuvillette but will be so defensive about her VL about Arle, yes she wants nothing to do with her, they aren't friends like some of you make them to be, Idt Arle even cares about her at all lol characters like Clorinde and Navia whom she close with will definitely fits better as sunshine protector category (and they canonically close) but that will be too much to ask for them to understand right?
I also kinda icky with these group of shippers because they often teaming up with a certain yaoi ship whose shippers so often infantilize, denying Furina's importance, literally stealing her lore to make Wrio more important than he actually is in the story and of course so misogynistic towards her like these are the people you considers as ally? I am very sorry for the rant but the annoyance of these things keep coming back despite how good I usually ignoring this discourse
i get it, i'm also very annoyed by this (especially when it end up on my tl like today ☠️). i don't have anything against creating your own fanfiction world where furina forgave arle and they live a happy married life with ten kids but why tf would you claim it's actually canon? not the married with kids part, i don't think people are that insane, but the part where she forgave her and isn't afraid of her. have they even listened to furina's voice line about her? she IS still afraid and wants nothing to do with her. she isn't afraid of neuvillette, clorinde, navia, mc and others, only of arle. why do they try to make it seem like these situations are the same because they aren't.
i had several ships i liked where in canon those guys hated each other. and i can't really see why would i try to cope and say "no, they're actually in love, you just don't understand anything!". that's just stupid.
i don't think people who say things like this actually like furina, they like arle and her stupid little girlfriend, who isn't furina and actually just their oc. ofc not all shippers are like this, just the most annoying ones
