What would Tarrolf think of Squid Game? Both the show itself, and the cruel games taking place in it?
I'm not super familiar with Squid Games, but I'd think he'd actually disapprove. While he has a casual attitude about killing, he understands there's a limit to corporate/elite excess before people start talking about revolution and he's opposed to anything that comes close to that line.
Replaying Final Fantasy 7 Remake in anticipation for Rebirth being released on PC in a few weeks and now I find myself comparing Tarrolf and FF7's Heidegger (since they're both heads of the police/military), and I also find myself wondering which of them will turn out to be the worse person haha. For now I'm considering Heidegger to be the worse and hoping it doesn't turn out be Tarrolf... whether that's to ease my conscience for simping for Tarrolf or not I'm not sure XD
There's some parallels, but Heidegger is mostly a caricature. Ideally, Tarrolf will come off as not necessarily "better," but more nuanced, so his actions invite more questions.
(repeating this question since I don't think I made it clear what it was continuing from) Continuing on from Tarrolf leaving since he considers his 'prey' not engaging enough when they keep avoiding his attacks and saying "enemy status denied~" what will he do then if said would be prey just knocked out the minions Tarrolf sends after him?
That could be interesting to him. At the end of the day, however, while the hunt is all well and good, the quarry still needs to be useful to him in some way. If there's no use, there's no interest.
Do you maybe have any tips for world building? I'm still amazed by how deep yours is in String Zero, and I hope I reach that level someday
I could write a whole essay about this. In short, make worldbuilding human: It exists to support the people in the world, not the other way around. Tie as much as you can back to people and how it has affected those people.
What's the estimated population of New Lios?
Roughly equivalent in size to the Tokyo metro, which is roughly equivalent to 14 million people.
Would you like to hold hands while running through flower fields?
Only if we get to wear flower crowns and be gay. 🌈
How was your day, Reo!?
I'm working hard for the money. So hard for it, honey!
I don't think I've had such a 50/50 of wanting a villain to dominate me while also wanting to see them put in their place as I am now with Tarrolf
Temptation is a very flexible tool for men of questionable morals. 😌
Continuing on from the answer of how Tarrolf would get bored if the person he viewed as a threat repeatedly evaded his attacks and kept telling him 'enemy status denied~', what would Tarrolf do then, leave?
Likely send his minions to "deal with it" and move on to more engaging prey.
I'm gonna pet the monster that came after Ravy at the end of chapter 3
pet, pet, om nom, chomp chomp
Will there be a lyric video for 'Not the End, Vocal'?
This is actually a great idea. I'll look into it.
Having watched Bringing the Heat Episode 2, I've realized that if Tarrolf gets voiced in a future episode, it'll likely be over for me
Well...
what make you got the ideal about make String Zero?
It's a story that's many decades in the making based on a fantasy story I started in high school. It warped into a cyberpunk story over time because I wanted to tell stories that reflected modern reality and politics in a more accessible way while still leaving room for the fantastic.
I feel like playing with fire once again.
sneaks up behind Tarrolf and smacks his ass then immediately tries to run away only to get grabbed immediately
In nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti, amen.
How would Tarrolf react if there was someone he viewed as a potentially dangerous threat to be eliminated, but they only ever perfectly evaded his attacks and didn't fight back, repeatedly and cheekily telling him 'enemy status denied~'?
He'd get bored!
