for my visor neo pilot-xfer works as long as i use the usbserial and visor kernel modules on linux, on a computer with usb 2.0 ports (libusb seems to dislike usb 3.0 ports in newer computers), this means using "/dev/ttyUSB0" instead of "usb:" once that device populates in your computer after pressing the hotsync button. the --backup (-b) option in pilot-xfer should back up every single database in your palm to your computer, including the eyemodule .pdbs
