Do you believe that you're real, or are you convinced that this reality is all a mere figment of imagination?
For example, if God were to exist, do you think this is simply a part of his imagination? Is this all a simulation, or game? Is this reality.. reality?
Do you believe you are a figment of the imagination, as well, or do you feel different because you have sentience and awareness? Do you feel real, or do things slide away from you just as easily as they come?
Are you real? If you are, congratulations. If you're not, do you just lie to yourself to feel relevant or special?
Honestly I’m pretty interested in some of the simulation/matrix theories I’ve heard, even as someone who doesn’t really believe them. I’m just gonna go off a classic, Rene Descartes, and say that even though we can’t really prove we’re real other than put own consciousness, I would think it’s nearly impossible for our consciousness to manifest everything on its own. I mean think about it, your family, your idols, people you hate, and complicated science jargon that you’d never quite understand. Even if this is all a simulation, it’d have to come from some place. To make a false reality, a great majority of it needs to be real or based off real things. So yeah, if we were living some god’s dream or some computer geek’s 3D world, we can’t all be 100% fake. And if we existed in the latter, we’d technically be super advanced AI. Is that really so different from a human?
