FWIH, people saw Plaion buying Anime Limited as a good thing (you can guess why).
Also wasn't that whole incident related to THQ Nordic (as in the publisher, not the parent company Embracer, who also used to be called THQ Nordic hence the confusion). Calling Plaion bad because of whatever THQ Nordic (not that Plaion's any innocent) did is like saying that Saber Interactive and Gearbox are bad companies specifically because of whatever THQ Nordic did.

We do need competition though because we can't have Sony and their Crunchyroll venture eat up everything (and Japanese producers don't want that either). It's a paradox but it's gonna require that Plaion beef up Anime Limited's ops and have KSM Anime (Germany) and Anime Factory (Italy) be better-integrated with Anime Limited, plus get some more titles so they can have enough to justify doing a streaming service.
I mean, don't get me wrong, sure, I do agree with you. The reason a lot of us took issue with this is because Embracer Group is not particular a good... company. Almost none of them are, don't get me wrong, but they literally protected one of their executives after they went on a known website that had more-than-problematic people and there was distribution of under-age-you-know-what on there, and all they could say is an "I'm sorry, we didn't realize", when the site was only known to have extremists that effetely left 4chan. You'd have to intentionally seek out that website.
Anyway, I'd rather just not have major businesses not buy out companies and for anime companies to operate with minimal obstruction of a major conglomerate overseeing everything. Even if Deep Silver/Embrcer Group wasn't a bad place, I'd still feel this way.

Moobs/Boobs or ass?
Embracer Group via Plaion/Koch Media (owners of Deep Silver) has brought Anime Limited in October 2022
Pokémon anime is set to move on from Satoshi to a girl protagonist named Riko. Any thoughts on this and to why the change now?
It's honestly time and it'd been time for a long time ago. I'm glad we're getting a mini-series focusing on the end of Satoshi/Ash's journey and focusing on the original core cast. I'm really happy to see that the Pokemon anime can finally try to do something new and bring in an entirely new generation. And while Satoshi did work, I think having an entire reset will help bring upon new concepts and things they can experiment with, without having to rely heavily on Satoshi and Pikachu as a core concept. While the style seems to be keeping things somewhat status quo, there's a lot I feel they can do with a new duo.
I'm hoping for the best. Riko (Rico? Lico? Liko?)and Roy could be a good duo and I'm excited about those possibilities.
are you gonna get yourself a home theater or 5.1 sound bar some day?
Thoughts on the Bad Guys (Dreamworks movie with the wolf)?
Any hopes for a good 2023?
Didn’t you use to be on Toonzone Forum Site page? Mendinso sounds quite familiar
What is working for Discotek like? You mentioned being a freelancer for them, and it sounds like a big job if only cause of their great portfolio!
I won't normally answer Discotek Media questions, since I'm not sure how much I can openly discuss or talk about this particular release, but honestly? With something like Sonic X, while I won't lie, I always wanted to work on an official release of this in some capacity, years ago, it was both exciting, as it was terrifying, to finally be able to work on this. There's a lot of expectations with this release and I'm really hoping I did a good enough job. It was a lot of work for me and my friends at Discotek.
But yeah, needless to say, it was a huge undertaking. I hope you guys enjoy it when it's finally out there. A lot of love and effort went into this release.
