the gene transfer idea is neat, so kimales could say take just one type of gamete like sperm and deliver it to a female or vice versa, or take an egg that was already fertilized(?) with sperm to a vimale to complete the fertilization with vril. in that last example where a kimale delivered the gametes to a vimale to finalize the fertilization, i'd assume the kimale would then just lay the egg(s) themselves right? many interesting combinations of possibilities here 🤔💭

Yup, the kimale could gestate and lay the eggs themselves, or leave them with someone in a unit that wants them. Usually kimales tend to stay on the move, they can't really travel when pregnant. Kiophen typically engage in communal child rearing, due to the fact that the parents of any given egg are hard to track down. There are some larger towns that can maintain a sustainable population with all gamete sexes available that keep track of lineages, but they are rare. There is an unnaturally large city in the core of the tree that also does this and makes a bigger deal out of it than they should.

And yeah you got the first part, they can carry any combination of gamete and store, transfer, or gestate them. Or they can get rid of them if they're done with their mating period. There's no significance to getting rid of eggs at any stage of fertilization; they make plenty of them.
