i experimented with a cultural aspect like that a while ago, i haven’t worked on it lately tho

basically there was an ancient civilization where once you reached adulthood you were gifted a belt with one little gem, you would then begin to eat and grow as much as you could, as your waist grows the belt gets tighter until it snaps, so then you’re given a bigger belt with two gems, you grow wider, it snaps again, 3 gems, and so on, the ruling class were just giant immobile lardasses with like 20 gem belts, easily the average person in Leif nowadays lmao
