not only is it objectifying them, but speculation sexuality and relationships about real people is an invasion of their privacy. i’ve been in fandoms for youtubers where its happened and literally cause people to never talk again publicly with one another because of it. shipping real people is linked to parasocialism and because the kpop industry is literally built on parasocial relationships, people who don’t have healthy parasocial relationships tend to take things too far (including shipping) which is why its so normalized 🤷
