We don't really know when mattbin met, there have been so many theories but the two never even said the year :( I'm pretty sure it has to be 2021 tho, just not when exactly that year. Matt went to college for a bit, so that must've been in 2020. Then he started at hybe but he never said how long he was there and when he changed to cube. In a video from May I think he told someone he's been in Korea for like 2½ years or smth and he mentioned that last Christmas was his 3rd one in Korea, so that means he has to have come there in 2021. In his boys planet profile it says that his training period was 1 year and 6 months and since they probably filled that out in like November 2022, it would mean he started training in Korea around May 2021. Again, we don't know how long he was at hybe. Bin's new agency got established in November 2021 (I think) and I've seen people say he already left cube in 2021, but that doesn't completely add up since Hyeonbin from nowadays joined cube 2022 (according to the internet) and they are close so bin must've left cube in 2022. In his bp profile his training period is 8 months, so that fits with being a trainee at studio glide since the beginning of 2022. So my guess is that they met around mid 2021. I've been trying to ask them in their lives when they met, but they never read that message, hopefully we will get more details more soon 🤞 sorry for this rant btw, just wanted to share my theories for once

have you seen some fans claimg that matt & bin are being favored bc sorn said clc's former management team is now zb1's? That's just so ridiculous, like a) clc wasn't managed well so this is kinda an indicator that they're all not treated that well and b) just bc they were at cube doesn't mean that they know each other or that the management likes them more bc of that. The claims are mainly coming from hao's fandom rn and he's really not the one being mistreated, I could get it if ricky or woong stans would make that claim but bin & hao are the ones who get the most opportunities bc they're the most popular. Fans need to realize that it's not only the company deciding things but it's also the brands asking for specific people. I also get upset when I see some members get less opportunities than others but this is how it works and you're only hurting your fav and their group when you put the other members down. zb1 really has the most intense form of solo stans I've seen in my years of being a kpop fan and it's just holding them down

Not going to mention any maet ship in this cuz baby boy has already gone through a lot but, Lol, I feel like I have to defend myself as someone who has two NOTPs and who is a monogamist regarding one member. (not from you because yeah, why tf would anyone search for their Notp, ew, I want that shit away from me), but from that anon because… most shippers have a Notp even if they don't call it that, and the large majority are like… normal about it.
I know that comment wasn't directed at ppl like me who are not gonna go on a witch hunt of whoever ships my NOTPs, but I don't think the deal breaker is having a NOTP or being a monogamist or not. I think is that a lot of people, shipper or not, 1- have no idea how to fandom and 2- cling to a moral high ground to try and justify any negative feelings they have so they can avoid some weird new kind of guilt from disliking something just because you dislike something. Also 3- which is people forget that yes you can curate your experience and just block ppl (in my case that's not feasible but I mute the ship names), but I don't think I wanna dive into that.
I still remember getting death threats over a certain Haikyuu ship. People said it was because one was a third year in high-school and the other was a first year in high-school. The real reason was because they, who were halves of two of the top 5 or 6 most popular ships in the fandom at the time, had a growing fanbase who didn't pretend to care about the other ships like other rarepairs did, we only ever posted about our OTP and God, did people hate that.
I've got my NOTPs, both in rps and fiction ships, including two in jbw — neither including members of my otp —, but I'd never talk about it in public in any way people can find. I've got them in on my rps chart marked as NOTP so people can stay away if they want (and they may know why I mute/block/unfollow them), but whenever I want to vent is always vague, it's always "them" instead of name or I censor the name (not my Notp but this one is so work relationship coded for me, I still read cuz fiction is fun, but everytime I see tinhatting I'm like "do they know each other?")
Maybe that's because I've got Tumblr manners — You don't tag the media, you don't tag the memebrs/characters, you don't tag your Notp as (e.g.) neulbin, you tag it as antineulbin, so people can block the tag (and you) and your hate won't show up when people search the ship, but the people who share the same opinion can find you.
It's just… there are lines, yk? So that's my point one, fandom manners. This rps community lacks fandom manners. No one is saying you can't have NOTPs, just be fucking sensible about it.
On the second point is what bothers me the most: People try to justify their hate.
OK, you can try and explain, I mean, I hate that one canon ship because those characters were changed not by the narrative but by the author, with no reason, so yeah, fuck that. But I ain't gonna get on my moral horse, ride to moral hill and give my little moral proclamation in my shining moral armor.
You don't even BELIEVE what you're saying, you just want to have some backing for your opinion. Those people talk the same way the anti-rps do. They reduce morals, they use ad absurdum fallacies with the craziest equivalency, they clearly give no fucks to what they claim to be defending because they are OK with a similar situation as long as is not the one they hate.
They can't own up to the fact that they just DISLIKE stuff with no superior reason. Because that's what bad people do. They hate for no reason. And they'd rather die than be a bad person. Except that's not a "bad person" exclusive! That's human! Sometimes you see a new coworker and you just absolutely don't vibe with them. You still gotta be polite, you owe them respect. And yeah, some stuff you can't just block or mute because it's everywhere and maybe your work friend also hate them so you two can talk about how the way they fill their coffee with sugar is soooo obnoxious, but you ain't doing all that anywhere this coworker or ANYONE ELSE, for that matter, can hear. That's the different between being just human and being a bad person.
I guess that's why people get so mad with dead dove do not eat, because they think enjoying fiction like that means you enjoy it in reality as well.
