On the topic of boring lesbian media, do you find that a lot of female characters are just in general written kinda poorly or just have less care put into them than their male counterparts? Idk if I just have high standards for female characters but I seem to notice that people either make the dominant personality of most female characters "sweet/nice" or "serious/level headed" and don't seem to explore outside of that...it's annoying!! I want more female main characters that are a little bit weird and silly and nasty and mean and fucked up and are more than just 3 tropes tied together with string!! (And in addition to all that clare and ena are great and complex and well written so thanks for the food 👍)
ive talked abt it b4 and it basically boils down to ppl not allowing women to have the same amt of complexity...they have to exemplify how to be proper women first and foremost
as an aside..i feel like people also tend to glamourize lesbian relationships than relationships w men bc women are sweeter and kinder 🌸☺️ they need to know some rl lesbians bc that shit is not true LOL

yknow for a while i thought i wasn’t really into a lot of lesbian media (at least online there seems to only be the highlights of the most “wholesome” or “cute” stuff), and i felt bad about that. thanks to clarena however my taste for insane lesbian content has rejuvenated. thank you. i think the biggest informing factor for all my chars is my exp w diaspora. for personalities i think i kind of give them each an aspect of myself but exaggerated for dramatic effect lol. for clare she has most of my neuroticism and then for ena she has the laid back/fun side... tho if u meet me irl im actually very chill and normal 🤠
