Hey so I have a question. I know u used to have all your works anonymous - do you like it better being off anon? I've been thinking about de-anoning my works so it's all in one spot, but idk... what are your thoughts? - 7️⃣

So, to answer this question, I should explain why I'm anon in the first place

I started my ao3 account back in January of 2023 and posted my first fic in February of the same year. When I started, all my fics were rated T and I had a small following on sfw m/c/y/t twt. When I started posting smut, I was well aware of the fact that I probably had minors following me and I didn't feel comfortable posting my smut like that so I made an anon series to keep everything together and made my nsfw twt

It's also worth noting how kinky the smut I was writing was.

Enough time passed and i eventually decided fuck it and took myself on anon (I also had an irl who knew my account and I was a little embarrassed but we fell out (she basically never gave a fuck about me anyways—)

From the beginning, I always had my fics together because on a personal level, i always want to claim my writing as mine. I want people to know what I've written

So at the time, the anon series was my solution to attaching my name to my work

I did always have the want to fully claim everything, my sfw fics, my nsfw fics, my name. (I also hated my old pseud)

So idk, to me, de-anoning it is a way to claim my work fully as my own and let's people browse it much easier (being able to filter tags, being able to see my series clearer etc)

Idk, personally I enjoy being off anon, but it really depends on your reasonings and what you want 🫶
