Do you know people can ship without wanting ships to be canon? That's the entire point of fandom for some of us. I don't want ships to be canon in Hoyo games. For me, the fun comes from the different combinations of characters that can be made and all the different tropes you can explore without being constrained by canon. That's how people used to ship, anyway, until fandom became obsessed with canon validation.
