Having a small community with trusted people really does wonders to you mentally as it motivates you to be productive for your small circle of friends and there’s a sense of security where no one would suddenly criticize you or make you feel like the worst person on earth for loving something.

It feels bizarre when you came from a huge but utterly toxic fandom. Where everything you post must be done with caution because some no life will barge on your account even if the tweet wasn’t for them or about them.

you are very right, i think it's the only way to engage with fandom nowadays without stressing too much. i think after the recent twt update of the block feature it will be more difficult to do so, hopefully with time we will all move to bluesky.

idk which fandom you were in before but if it was worse than hyv ones it must've been crazy lol. my only experience worse than genshin is identity v fandom bc despite being small toxicity is very normalised and theres a lot of antis
