I wish I had a good answer to that. I wasn't "out" fully in China and I have no idea what day to day life as a trans person would be like, since it seems the options are just DIY or the one (1) gender clinic in Shanghai. I have friends in the UK and I'm grateful for their support but it feels like a country with no future.
