You're so real I feel insane sometimes for being into ppf around others who would view those who create it as horrible. I've looked at so many texts about ethics respect and all but in the end those against it probably wont change their minds. I do my best to minimize the potential harm it could cause, I'm often afraid that I am or will hurt someone since I'm using their likeness in my private fanwork. Sometimes idk how to feel making something that the people behind the personas wouldn't want. Conflicted
I’m sorry, and I’m not sure if I can help you with this. I think something that may help is looking at how Kpop idols have historically reacted to knowing about and even reading fanfiction of themselves. Which is to say, they know it exists and think it’s funny. There’s 2nd gen, 3rd gen, and 5th gen idols who have all talked about fanfiction as a funny little thing. Like Somi, who asked people to “please consider making her a top for once” or something, and Lara from Katseye who thinks it’s very funny, and those two guys from a 2nd gen group that I don’t remember who were joking about mpreg fanfiction of themselves. Rpf is not a deep dark secret. It’s been an essential part of kpop fandom since the Beginning.
