Hi! I'm interested in applying for a merchandise artist in the upcoming month. Are you guys looking for anything in particular in art style? I'm trying to build my portfolio right now to hopefully work with you on this project! And likely how many artists will be selected?
Hi there! We are not looking for specific art styles, as all applicants (both page and merch artists) will be judged based on anatomy, color, background, overall composition, and pitch/concept~ We would prefer to see at least one sample that includes a drawing of a female character, and for merch artists at least 1 actual merch sample or merch concept is strongly recommended. Samples including One Piece characters are recommended, but not required.
We will be selecting a total of 2 merch artists

Since this zine is focused on sapphic characters, would there maybe be a bit of room for characters headcannoned as transfem? If not it’s totally understandable, I was just a bit curious!
Head cannons are allowed, but we would still prefer to focus on the canonically female characters of One Piece. This includes Trans women characters like O-kiku and nonbinary characters like Emporio Ivankov~ Trans women are women!

hi!! the zine is planned to release physically with accompanying merch. We aim for contributors to at the very least be compensated with the physical zine, and if sales allow, a full bundle, this of course would be free of charge for contributors.

if i get the chance to create for this zine as an artist will i be required to draw exclusively sapphic merchandise? im sorry this is like a rly stupid question but i was wondering i.e keychains or prints would have to be ship art or just individual girls from one piece is okay?
generally speaking the zine aims for all types of sapphic and lesbian representation! this includes pieces of work that depict ships but also individual characters with direct representation of their queerness such as with the usage of sapphic and/or lesbain flags. We also encourage more think pieces from our contributors, as there isn't just one way to show representation through media. Of course, all above applies to pages, merchandise and fics.

do you need to have a social media presence or a big following to apply as an artist/contributor? and if you do does it matter what platform u post ur art from( ig, twit, tumblr)
follower count and/or social media presence don't matter when it comes to applying for the zine!! mods will judge contributors solely on their abilities and the samples they provide us<3

Since there is a plan for a physical release, will there be options to buy zines with removable book sleeves that are less likely to be noticed as lgbtqia+ related? For people who unfortunately need to hide these types of items in their household.
the option for a book sleeve is to be decided. its also important to note that, in the case we are unable to offer a book sleeve, the zine will be noticebly lgbt+ and we discourage our buyers from getting the zine if in an unsafe and/or unaccepting environment.
