i had a whole response then accidentally refreshed the page and i cant be bothered to retype it all out im so sorry but basic rundown is
- this is a super interesting question but i think its gonna remain unanswered for a while, but summer bird was a bit of a "souma wants to take his idol work to the moon and back" moment even if it involved having second options and trying to figure out what exactly he wanted to do
- soumas devotion for his family values, his ancestors, and tradition upbringing are super important but also he wants to bring all that into his idol work to show that hes proud to be a kanzaki, even when his family werent initially supportive of his dream to be an idol
- souma wants to bring the two things he loves the most together even if it means focusing on being an idol "more". ie souma FS story 1 - wanting to incorporate the kanzaki clan symbol into his costume
- the current heirachy of the kanzaki clan is unknown
i dont know what i was saying tbh but currently if he had the choice i dont think he would. i think he'd aim for the position to be given to his brother, even if that was near impossible
