followed ur suggestion and read ur surgical interns nahyuck fic heh
it did not feel like 20k words to me AT ALLLL i devoured that fic so fast... didnt think id enjoy a fic centered around surgeons as much as i did this one <3
really adore how nahyuck's relationship progresses! like whats mentioned in the fic itself, both hc and jm see (and assume) the worst of each other, which helped create a solid foundation to their relationship. they saw the uglier sides of each other first, and still fell for each other all the same, making it more lovely to see how they became more affectionate in the latter parts of the story.
i esp liked jm's character and how little we knew abt his thoughts >< like hc says, jm is an enigma, but u sympathize with him bc all he rlly wanted was someone to recognize him as person apart from his family. not getting a peek at his mind was frustrating BUT it added that bit of suspense that made me keep reading ^^
i think jm and hc are alike in the sense that they let love consume them completely. hc is just naturally lovely and affectionate and sweet with everybody, so its a no-brainer that hed be as warm with whoever he falls in love with. as for jm, nobodys ever rlly looked at him, paid attention to him, the way hc did, so i can imagine his love for hc kind of just overcome him and came pouring out in his mannerisms and gestures (like with the kisses and sex and chai latte) hehe
im rambling a bit too much and idk where im going with this but each character was rlly lovely and fleshed out rlly nicely which, i think, helped round out the story effectively!! it felt like i was some random bystander who hangs out at the nurses station of the hospital ^_^"
would love to know how everyone's doing now!! though i imagine its not all rainbows and butterflies being surgical interns, id like to think that the last scene, where everyone's basking in the warmth and calm of the shared apartment, is smth each character can go back to after a long day of work <3

woahh anon how lovely of you to come back and tell me your thoughts directly you are tooo kind....firstly if u know me u know i struggle with reading longfic bc i have no attention span,,, so for u to say that 20k words of something u wouldnt usually read didnt feel so long is actually a great compliment. bc it was long for me LOL. i'm going to be honest tho when i was writing love and other ailments i wasnt really thinking about much outside of making nahyuck bone as much as possible lmao. so i like to think that the characters really took on a life of their own and i think its super cool that so many people mention the characterization as their fav thing. bc i was stressed about formatting all the sex.
i LOVEEEE when people learn to respect the bad sides of each other first i think thats 100% my favorite thing abt rivals to lovers + this nahyuck. i think you're spot on for all of their little character quirks but especially for saying that jaemin is attracted to hyuck bc no one has ever paid attention to him in that way. he's used to people immediately sucking up to him bc of his parents and his...well his beautiful gorgeous face. so hyuck being so abrasive in the beginning really got jm to like him way before they ever hooked up like damn he's so annoying we Have to fuck fr. and jm being an enigma is also just him being crazy and trying to control what people think about him however he can. i didnt do that. it was him. ik people have mentioned it'd be fun to read laoa from his perspective but i really think hyuck was the best (most fun) narrator for this lol.
as for what everyone is doing now!! idk. making bad decisions probably. they definitely still crash at rj's place even after jaemin asks hyuck to move in with him. i like to think that jisung is inspired to go to med school too and runs into hyuck at a grocery store or something to tell him. mark and renjun rekindle for sure. jeno starts dating chenle properly, so he's over alot more often too. renjun complains about all of them being there all the time but secretly loves it. they share all the major holidays together. jaemin switches from pediatric surgery to plastics and has a crisis in the process. i think a little farther in the future they would all try to kill each other to be chief resident. fun stuff like that. i've said this before but my favorite thing about greys anatomy is the epic highs and lows of those tightly knit friend groups, so thats what i picture for them <3

idk if u still read ur asks BUTTT i just read ur fics for the first time (ur nohyuck ones to be specific) and BY GODDDD HAVE U TURNED ME INSANE !!! was literally foaming at the mouth with how good the characterization and build up was for the bff and ssu fics 💥💥💥 i realllyyy wanna wax poetic abt how great ur writing is but my brain is a puddle right now ... thats just how effective u are at evoking such visceral emotions from me with ur stories 😭😭 hope u continue writing lovely stories! ill probs get into ur nahyuck fics this time around hehe hope u have a great day <33
plss yes i still read my asks 😭 its kind of surreal to me that theres people reading my fics for the first time still...those nohyuck fics in particular feel so far away now like i was a different person when i wrote them! i dont know if it shows but i seriously enjoy writing build up (even though i havent written in a while LOL) way more than i like writing actual smut...its all about the chase imo. but i'm so glad you liked my writing enough to send me such a sweet ask about it really i appreciate these so much :') and i'm heavily biased but i think my nahyuck fics are more fun than the nohyuck ones hehe....i hope u like them <3
