i’m terrible at choosing favorites OTL i think pushing the dramatic and profound emotional plot points aside, i’m deeply fond of the mundane elements of their relationship. the routines of shared breakfast on the roof, vanitas ‘reluctantly’ housewifing (he likes it, actually) and gaining weight from cooking more regularly. their wordless understanding, apologies made in the shape of baked goods. visiting (pestering) noé at work. going on not-dates around paris with noé sparkling brighter than the city lights at night and vanitas watching on in fond exasperation. watching the sun set from the hotel rooftop, shoulder to shoulder. those mundane joys are fleeting, but they’re the glue that holds together two uniquely broken individuals on their shared path towards salvation and repentance, whatever shape that might take.
