So is it normal for everyone to be hyped up about a popular character returning in a sequel anime that you didn't watch the prequel to and the show almost specifically telling you it's that guy from before, and for you to wish it's not?

my only similar experience is that i dont really care about yugioh 5ds too much so i havent bothered to watch it but then the characters return in arc v and im sat here like, wow.... i kinda dont care?? but like in ur situation that sucks,
sometimes an anime will just do stuff we dont like and were really just dragged along kicking and screaming, please be kind to urself and focus on ur blorbos, sorry to the prequel guy but only true blorbos allowed
