Well, I actually see mainly positive effects coming from this:
- First and foremost, Americans seem to realize how skewed their "healthcare" systems are.
- Home office will be spread out to more jobs, even those office jobs that claimed for so long that "it's just not possible". And as an effect on that, more people will decide to work from home if possible, which also has positive effects on mental health.
- Governments, especially the German one, finally will have to do the push for digitalizing the education system. Them neglecting it for so long now shows the effects of that.
- Wearing face masks is going to get more accepted and not being a weird "thing people do in Asia".
- Production of a lot of things that has been laid off to countries like China will probably make a return back into western countries, which probably might lead to improvements in working quality in general as countries in the west usually try to uphold specific standards.
In general, the positive thing is that COVID exposed so much of the neglecting and laziness on so many executive levels, and they are now almost forced to improve on those.
