Hi! I'm just wondering about the 2 books announcement. What if one of the books sells much more than the other? How can you be sure that you will be able to finance both?
What financial pros does 2 books have?
Hello! We decided to have two books, since a single physical small book has page limits constraints, and we wanted to include more content.
Based on our interest check, we believe that our project will be able to work with having two books. We hope that everyone will be interested in both versions (like with having two different Pokemon game versions!)

an example scenario here, but what if a buyer's two favourite pokemon are togepi and tatsugiri, but each of those pokemon appears in a different book. if the buyer cant afford both books, it would make an awkward situation and hard decision.
may i ask what the reason was for this decision? i feel there will be more detriments than benefits
Hello! We wanted to include more contributors in our project, since we received so many talented applications. Due to the physical limitations of our small book, we can't include too many pages in a single book, so we decided to have another volume to add more content.
There will be different bundles of different price points; we will be trying our best to figure out bundles that work for as many people as possible!

Hello, when I submitted my portfolio I had a piece that was full background and rendered and some others in various stages of completion or detail. Will all the pieces not being fully completed with full backgrounds impact my application? I think I had 2 fully rendered pieces on my application

Can buyers also only get one of the zines? And if there's no thematic difference at all, how would you choose between them if you don't want / can't afford the full bundle of both zines?
Hello! Yes, buyers will definitely just be able to buy one of the versions. We will have several bundles of different size and versions available.
We will try our best to provide the list of Pokémon that shows up in each of the versions during preorders, to help aid everyone's decision.

Please don't worry about the spotlights we are posting. These are guests that have been invited to join the project, and will not impact anyone's applications! Applications will end on May 22, and results will come out after that so you haven't missed anything!

Hello!|ω•｀)I'm thinking of applying for the artist ( not sure yet) this is gonna be my first with a zine I don't have any experience with this kind of stuff. Does contributors needs to put money on this or just their work on the zine?
Hello! Contributors wouldn't have to put any money in for this project to happen and we just need their work made for the project!
The only time contributors may want to pay is if our sales don't go well (i.e. we don't break even) and contributors want to buy the book/merch at production cost!

Sorry if you answered this already but could you clarify "a finished composition and background".
A finished composition and background means that we're expecting to see a complete, rendered piece and some background elements, since this is what we will be expecting for the zine! This means for this sample, we're not looking for: WIPs, sketches, unfinished lines, unfinished pieces, flat colors, empty background. Hope this clears it up!

Hello, when submitting your sample pieces, please follow the application guidelines! Writers, page artists, and merch artists will have different guidelines, so please read them carefully so that your application is valid!
