how to get into sakurazaka? i only know keyaki very briefly bcs of techi :’ and was surprised she left

omg ngl ive been into the group for so long its hard to figure out the best start point but

resources:
- music is readily available on spotify/AM, MVs are on youtube (keyakizaka-era b-sides are still regionlocked but you can find reuploads if you want easily). my personal fave mv of saku is nagaredama: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drCopBcrxRM, the visual direction is great and you can see their dance and passion for performing. but rly saku have fantastic visuals in general
- generally https://sakurazaka101.com/ ran by the amazing @SakuzakaCentral is a great resource, there are lyrics translations, blog translations, schedule updates etc etc. they also have a brief timeline of activities / history: https://sakurazaka101.com/history/
- keyavids http://keyavids.com/ has tons of subbed videos from their variety, to showrooms/livestreams, to live performances, to mvs and individual pvs etc etc
- i think their final documentary as keyakizaka before the rebranding might be a short-ish jump-in point? shows their group bond and the meaning of the group to them, how hard they work and all: http://keyavids.com/documentary-of-the-last-live-those-who-climbed-keyakizaka-english-sub/
- otherwise you can start with their weekly show, soko magattara sakurazaka: http://keyavids.com/tag/SokoSaku/ ! you can either start from the beginning or just jump in at any point, the episodes are rarely connected aside from ones that are divided in parts, and its just girls doing random stuff ala gose/leniverse/typical idol variety
- on twitter @toomuchidea often livetweets / translates various interviews, showrooms, radio streams the girls do. and ofc the aforementioned amazing @sakuzakacentral peeps, they also just opened a discord channel: https://discord.gg/gAcvu9b3MD

i think the important thing is not to get overwhelmed by # of members and content. just pick one or a few that you like and don't worry about knowing everyone and everything right away, the rest will come with time. like that's the fun part about the concept of 48/46g, yeah team bonds and friendships are important, but it's also a bit like a treasure trove... some members are given more opportunities, some less, breakout moments happen at different times for everyone, it's fun to see how the group changes for you over time

i only really learned new generation members other than the original 21 kanji keyaki and the 2nd generation centers (ten, hono, karin, hikaru) like... a year or so ago lol despite them joining when keya was still a thing. and even then some of them i only memorized literally this year after BACKS LIVE (a live performance they did where members that were not selected for main single promotions got to perform and center various sakurazaka songs). so don't feel worried abt the number of members or archive panic

and of course if you need help identifying someone or finding specific content just let me know! i am always happy to help :fingerheart:
