oh this is a fun one! as far as hobbies, there's certainly a couple that are really fun but never really fit to chatter on about unprompted - i've been doing a lot of noisy music stuff with a monosynth and a bunch of pedals/mics and had a blast; gamedev has flared up again and i've had my head buried in it for a good bit too, working on traditional roguelike stuff.

as far as media i don't get to talk about much -- for books, brothers karamazov and 2666 are recently the ones i'd talk someone's ear off in a heartbeat - for movies, synecdoche ny and possession. a lot of industrial music in general has a tiny audience but fun when you get to ramble about it. lain is somewhat in the anime zeitgeist but i love texhnolyze by the same crowd even more.
