real talk its bc a lot of people end up on transit high/drunk and the transit officers never do their jobs or take forever to remove people causing issues so people just. do things. gross things. dangerous things. it got worse when covid started because less people took the train so they stopped checking tickets as much so more...questionable types started using the train more often. which can be quite reflective of how the city treats its homeless + minority population, so theres conversations to be had about that too
