What’s your favorite operating system

i like debian a lot for server applications but i enjoy macOS the most for my daily personal operating system. i also enjoy hannah montana linux a lot.

Debian GNU/Linux. It's stable, highly customizable, and I think apt and the Debian repository are very elegant

Linux by default because Windows is awful, MacOS exists within the Apple walled garden which kills any positives it might otherwise have, and I've never tried any flavour of BSD or any of the many other smaller OS projects out there.

Windows 7, 10, or 11. There have been some feature regressions from 7 to 10 and from 10 to 11, unfortunately--I don't know what the heck Microsoft is thinking--but there have also been some additions/improvements with those successive versions, too. So it's hard to choose. But I currently run 11 because it's compatible with the most apps (and I don't think 7 is even supported anymore regarding updates) and has a few important features like the ability to run mobile apps (though I don't actually use that feature because I haven't seen any good apps in the mobile app store ;P) and the search function in the task manager.

linux. or as stallman calls it: guh new slash linucks
i dont have a favorite linux distro btw

My experience this far is limited to windows xp, vista, 7, 8.1, and 10 unfortunately. Out of those 7 treated me best, though I will admit fedi is slowly turning me on the idea of doing some flavor of Linux.
