cant believe this site is already going down next year :/
Hey there! Big fan of your colors, character design and awesome OCs! It would be really cool to get a chance to talk you about art ^^ . I am curious though, what program you use to draw?
currently i use sai2! i switched to it from sai1 maybe 2 or 3 years ago i think. i do basically everything in it (aside from sketching in paint w/ mouse on my desktop here and there) which includes animating lol... i'll definitely have to learn clip's animation stuff proper though cuz doing anything cleaner than rough animation is gonna be a huge pain in sai
Do you also hope that another season of Blood Blockade battlefront comes out?
Have you watched or played Digimon? If so, who is your favorite design wise and who is your favorite personality wise?
yeah, ive been a big fan of digimon since i was a kid! designwise, i like gigimon, beelzemon, meramon, shoutmon, kabuterimon, etc etc etc its hard to choose one lol
personality wise... hmmmm.. maybe tentomon? it's been a long while since i watched any digimon, i've been wanting to rewatch tamers but i haven't gotten around to it yet
Hiiii your art is lovely! And the fighting game inspirations/focus is very unique and refreshing. Have you ever considered taking comms for like, fighting game character sheets? Like, OC’s stances/moves? I ask out of interest.
hmmmm... i've thought about it, but it'd probably be a bit more involved than a standard character drawing.. like, there's some requirements to hit for me to be able to do it, likee, defined characterization, weapon/distinct fighting style, and a design that works well for a fighting moveset.
again, i'd consider it but for me it wouldn't be able to work for every character necessarily. we'll see i guess!
why you dont interact much outside of your moot account?
What characters of yours would you consider your favorite to illustrate in action poses?
really any character that i can swing some type of moveset for is a blast to draw poses for. been having to put together lots of movesets for my fighting game characters, n figuring out how to convey character while keeping stuff like hitboxes n hurtboxes n framedata n motion in mind is wayyyy fun
fightgame stuff... grah... so cool...
what happened to your toyhouse page?
it's still there! https://toyhou.se/qugre
unless you mean like, why haven't i been updating it much, n that's mostly just cuz i haven't bothered lately lol... eventually maybe
i kinda wish we got to hang out more as creatives instead of playing guilty gear... the 2 seconds we spent chatting about art was really nice
Your anatomy always looks so solid and seemingly effortless! What's a book, playlist, or practice regimen you'd recommend for someone looking to improve it?
well shucks, thanks! to be frank i think my anatomy skills are like, decently ok? i think i have a decent grasp on like, form and stuff but the details like actual muscle structure are mostly made up/done without much thought. i dont really have much in mind in the way of actually books to check out, but im sure there's lots of resources on muscle structure and body mechanics you can find online, whether it be from those art resource twitter accounts or elsewhere! i'd say just make sure when you're drawing to be realllllyy keen on properly replicating what you're studying when you do, n really figure out the mechanics n that kinda thing
whyyour characters have various body shapes? Not a bad thing ofc
you forgot your curiouscat password? lol
Which of your characters do you think would be the best to be a stance change fighter?
