ooo 🥺 nonny you're so sweet :') honestly, i write so fast and furious i sometimes forget the worldbuilding i used in previous AUs hahaha. but i just reread that one to refamiliarize myself! sooo here we go!

→very very generally speaking, this fic is a pot of soup loosely drawing from black butler, madoka, soul eater, & (insert basically any anime/fantasy series with familiars & summons involved).

→index:

🖤 summoners - there are different levels and functionalities. chars are at the bottom of the list in terms of clout. basically, their job is to do everyday/mundane street cleanup.
🖤 spirits/lesser demons - unruly, like to cause problems. not necessarily intelligent. most chars take care of F (lowest rank) to C rank spirits.

🖤 organizations/levels:

{unnamed patrol outlet} i didn't think up a name for them at the time lol - but this is where till works. basically the rank-and-file cleaning task force.
The Brass - upper echelon of the patrol outlet. i.e., Till's superiors. cleared to handle B to A rank spirits.
The Church - working for the church is an honor. ironically, the place where the strongest demons are contracted. usually, they are only called in for S-level situations and are also in charge of a very high-security prison. (urak was gunning for till to join the church but she didn't like their policies, and also is not great at summoning.)

→i think my major thought about this world, here, was that ivan is like. an SS-class demon who probably (definitely) should be contracted to someone of higher rank. but he sees a lot of potential in till. also i snuck this tidbit in: There’s something untapped in her...[Ivan is] lucky he got to her first.

to which my thinking is that. till has something that is dangerous for spirit/demonkind. being contracted to ivan, especially, increases the awareness of her ~energy~ or something, but till doesn't notice, really. she thinks it's just because she has the sight.

also kind of nonsequitur and fairly self-explanatory, but they take jobs off of a signboard. like a guild-y situation hahaha. so till gets MASSIVELY avoided when they're out and about in the wild lol.

i didn't really think much about mzsa when i was working on this one! 🤔 i think that sua would definitely work in the brass, and maybe mizi would have tried to as well, but her fiery personality would keep it from lasting for a long time lol.

sua thinks that ivan is an awful and unscrupulous familiar. something something "he's against the natural order" and till bristles against her, thinking she's trying to start shit...but sua probably has a point (not that till knows what the point is.)

i think mizi is pretty renegade. like, the type who falls into "device/tech" management. in the sense that till is super innovative, they run into each other a lot, but ivan, is, well. he's creepy lol. mizi likes to talk to ivan weirdly enough to figure out how effective her new ~magical flashbombs~ or talismans or what have you will be, and oddly enough ivan answers. (he doesn't really like demons much either wow what a shocker)

anyways! that's about the end of my thoughts. believe it or not, worldbuilding is so unbelievably not my jam hahaha so it's usually just a flimsy hodgepodge of "i think this sounds sexy" and i throw it at the wall to see what sticks. :3c
