omfg same way back i tried to get into it but i just couldnt, but about a year or so ago my partner convinced me to give it another shot and since then its become one of my biggest hyperfixations :3
but yeah i can definitely attest to it being much more appealing to read through it all in one go versus waiting ages for a new update, which is what im personally going through with beyond cannon now! in a way its neat since its kinda like experiencing what it must have been like back in its "prime" so to speak? either way, my partner also hasnt read BC but that doesnt mean either of you are fake fans! if it had a meaningful impact on you, and you truly love it, then youre as real as a fan gets in my book uvu
Oh nah don't worry, the fake fan line was just for having Beyond Canon Vriska as a pfp without having read lol. Beyond Canon is high on my to-read list, at least! I'll get to it eventually, probably while it's still updating lol.

anyways for an actual question or 2: when did you start reading homestuck and what do you think of beyond cannon?

Second: I ORIGINALLY tried to read Homestuck back in 2012 but couldn't get into it. I think I got about 600 pages in before I fell off? Dunno what I was on back then, I got deeply invested when I re-read it long before I hit page 600. Anyways I read it AGAIN at the end of 2022 and that's when it really clicked for me lol. I think that was good for me though, I think getting into Homestuck when the original comic was complete and entirely available, as opposed to when it was still being posted gradually, means I didn't develop a lot of the weird fandom brainrot that as far as I can tell is what made a lot of fans hate the comic (i.e. they got really used to fandomized versions of characters, especially during long breaks, and then got upset when the comic characters weren't that.)
Third, I have not actually read Beyond Canon yet, honestly lol. I have been meaning to get around to it eventually and I'm going to give it a completely fair chance when I do! I at least appreciate a lot of what it's going for, based on all I've heard about it so far. (I know, I know, pfp from a Beyond Canon panel but haven't read it, fake fan lol)
