horror movies and games!!! it's almost always horror movies, other fantasy fics, or folk lore. all tend to come with really rich visuals that are easy to immerse yourself in. i honestly have a much harder time writing fics that aren't based in some level of otherworldly interference, although i am a big fan of romcom type set ups and meetcutes. also sometimes songs/albums will lead to me forming a plot idea, but that's usually falling into some kind of specific americana / country gothic vibe that i hesitate to post because it's so deeply specific to the type of region i live in and i'm not sure how much anyone else would care to hear about it, especially in conjunction idols.
