hi anon!! in general, i love receiving long comments that point out specific parts of my writing or quote specific lines because these make me feel very 'seen,' especially if those happen to be my favourite parts too. writing is a lot of work and involves a lot of being very vulnerable, and that's why those types of comments mean a lot to me.

i have quite a terrible memory so i can't remember exactly which comments and what they are word for word, but i definitely have a handful of comments i have received that have shaped me as a writer. i remember one comment i received on a sheith fic from ages ago where the commenter wrote that i am a 'compassionate storyteller.' that line really stuck with me because that's what i strive to do with my fics. my writing tends to be character-driven and i love being able to take different characters with different traits and backgrounds and traumas, and tell their story in an empathetic way, and maybe help people who see themselves in those characters find compassion for themselves through an outside lens. even if it sounds like a bit of a grand aspiration for someone who primarily writes about gay sex lol.

i also received a comment from a dear friend of mine where they wrote that my fic felt like a 'fistful of fireworks.' idk why exactly, but that line has stuck with me to this day. i think any comment where i can feel how much emotional resonance my work has had on others really makes me feel very happy and grateful that i get to share my writing with others.
