hi oomf!! i don't remember exactly how because it's been so long at this point, but i remember when i was getting into more 90s indie stuff in high school they were a name that always stood out to me among critical darlings from that period and i loved the designs of their album covers. first one i listened to by them was dots and loops and when i got to diagonals and heard them layer multiple drum/percussion loops and call-and-response vocal melodies in 5/4 and still develop it into an eloquent and legible pop tune i knew i was gonna be a fan for life lol. coolest band ever
