An acknowledgement of friendship? Completely honest answer??? No. Haha. They could have a relationship that's just them chilling out on a rooftop together or something and they'd still call each other rivals instead of friend. One of them could be a near death situation after saving the other and they'd still be like "what kind of rival would I be if I let my rival die without settling the score" or something like that. It would be like, deep down we all know they're on very friendly terms with each other but they're so stubborn about the rival stuff that basically "rival" becomes almost synonymous to "friend".
