Yaz if you don’t mind, can I ask why you don’t like fenglian? I’m just curious, no judgement here. Personally I don’t like romantic mulian as much. I find them super cute as platonic soulmates, bffs etc but I personally am not that interested in them romantically. But also I kinda enjoy fenglian (depending on my mood lol) because of their history and the trope of prince and loyal bodyguard and the lifetime of following and dedicating to the other. It’s just so sweet to me. But anyway, I was curious for your thoughts if you would share!
i think my issue just comes from the way some fenglian shippers treat mq yk? like they often only use fx having a crush on xl just to make fx suffer or to rub it in the mq stans faces, not because they actually like fenglian, but then again the trope is amazing, i love bodyguard stories sdghjkhgjh i blame a mexican telenovela for that btw but that's neither here nor there
so yeah it's not the ship, it's not the trope, it's some of the shippers. not all of them, but some of them
there are three instances in which i like fenglian: requited first love that faded away with time, fengqinglian, and fenglian/huaqing. man i would kill for a fic with good fenglian and huaqing dfgjkh
also for some goddamn reason the remind me of prongsfoot which is a ship from my past fandom and i hate it with a burning passion. they're not similar AT ALL but the vibes THE VIBES yk?
